Singapore International Water Week
ABC Waters Seminar 2022

Speech by Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment, at the “Active, Beautiful, Clean Waters” Seminar 2022 on 20 April 2022
Climate Resilient and Liveable Cities
Climate change is one of the biggest threats facing the world today. Extreme weather events are becoming more frequent. Last month, Australia declared a national emergency in response to devastating floods along their east coast. In 2021, record-smashing heatwaves swept across North America, and a year’s worth of rain fell in Zhengzhou, China in just three days. This has increased the focus placed on sustainability and resilience in the planning and design of infrastructure and developments by countries all over the world.
