With the rapid technological advancements, the process of globalisation has accelerated. This resulted people, especially millennials, to become more alike but cause them to lost their individual cultural identities.
Boo Shank hopes to collaborate with public and private sectors to step into the community to showcase local traditions and cultures. Through the events initiated, we hope to preserve the intangible culture for the future generation.
Additionally, with modern technology leading us to become more isolated from the rest of humanity, Boo Shank aims to bring back the kampung spirit in the community. This positive attitude should be cultivated and developed to better nurture our well-being and strengthen the society. Boo Shank has been practising this value through collaborating with Henderson Dawson grassroots in community activities and Nanyang Polytechnic in training future potential MICE leaders and players.
Directors Pamm and Sylvester have observed their surroundings and communicated with people of different backgrounds. They realised the loss in cultural identities as Singapore progresses. Hence, they would like to give back to the communities and beyond, and enlighten the importance of giving back to others shouldn’t be overlooked - the beauty of giving back to the community is that giving back is its own gift.
